NOTICE OF UNEXPIRED BOARD SEAT

Pursuant to New Jersey statute N.J.S.A. 18A:12-15, notice is hereby given that the Phillipsburg Board of Education is accepting letters of interest for qualified candidates to fill a vacancy on the Board of Education for the 2026 and 2027 school years.
Legal Requirements:
To become a member of a local board of education in New Jersey, you must— • Be able to read and write • Hold U.S. citizenship and one year’s residency in the school district • Be registered to vote in the district before filing the nominating petition • Have no interest in any contract with, or claim against, the board • Not hold office as mayor or member of the municipal governing body or, in the case of county school districts, the county governing body • Not simultaneously hold two elective offices • Not be disqualified from membership for the conviction of certain crimes. (Within 30 days of election or appointment to the board, a member must undergo a criminal history background investigation through the state Department of Education.)

Candidates for the vacancy will be interviewed at the Regular Board of Education meeting to be held on December 15, 2025 at 7:00 P.M. at the Ed Center, 50 Sargent Avenue, Phillipsburg.

Notice is hereby given that the Phillipsburg Board of Education will have a change of:
1. DATE for its Reorganization Meeting from Monday, January 12, 2026, to
Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM.
Meetings are held at the Education Center, 50 Sargent Avenue, Phillipsburg, NJ.

Lunch / Summer EBT Applications

IMPORTANT: To be eligible to participate in the state’s 25-26 Summer EBT program parents must complete a lunch application. If have not already completed an application, please use the following link to apply online: https://www.payschoolscentral.com.
You will need to register for an account and complete the online application. By doing the application online you will be notified immediately if you are approved.
Please contact your child’s school if you need a hard copy of the application sent home with your child.
Only one application per family is required and all applications are due back as soon as possible.

     Academic achievement in all curricular programs is emphasized, and accelerated students are recognized by placement in advanced courses. Student recognition programs include honor and high honor rolls, Student of the Month selection through faculty committee, and membership in the National Junior Honor Society. This year the creation of a Liner P.R.I.D.E. Society for students as a positive reward system for exhibiting the traits of positive, respectful, involved, determined and excellent. Our daily schedule has allowed us the opportunity to create a 25 minute period each day known as Liner Pride Period. This period is designed to specifically target academic initiatives or online educational programs in the areas of language arts and mathematics for future academic success.
